Imagine this—a cold beer, good conversation, dark wood paneled walls, and one idea.
Ashley walked up to her friend Jeremy that evening in 2015, interrupting some nerdy conversation, and stated matter-of-factly, “We should have a podcast.”
And that is how the idea for (w)Holy Media (now Religionish) was born one warm, sticky Chicago evening in June.
Now known as Religionish, the podcast has gone through many changes. The show is now hosted, produced, and edited by one person — Ashley. It’s got a new look and a new name.
The heart of the show and its purpose haven’t changed much, though.
Originally (w)Holy Media focused on the world of religion in media, from the daily news to Hollywood and books to comics. Now, Religionish still looks at religion in media, but aims to open up the world of religion beyond print and the screen to illuminate its on-going presence in the world. Religion plays a role in society, even in ways we cannot always recognize…hence it’s religion-ish.
So, join Ashley as she nerds out over the world of religion and the various ways it appears in society.
It’s going to be a nerdy ride—so get comfy and prepare to become a #religionnerd!
